The Plexus Syndicate
Welcome to the home of The Plexus Syndicate. You are welcome to browse our site and learn about our corporation and alliance, even start up conversation on the forums. If you are a potential recruit and wish to join us, please follow the directions in the "Join Plexus" tab above, then follow the subsequent tabs. To the left, the last 5 articles that have been posted to the website are linked for your browsing convenience. Enjoy your stay. - Alsandair Thraushtin, President and CEO Welcome, potential recruit! Plexus is actively looking for new members who want to join her growing economic alliance base or help achieve our goals in the military. Please follow the steps below and it will help both you and us to make the application procedure as smooth as possible. 1. Register on our website using the "Register" button on the main menu. 2. Go to our Forums and login using the username and password you just created. 3. Go to the Application Questionnaire in our Recruitment forum; copy and paste the questions into a new thread of your own whilst answering the questions. 4. In-game, join our chat channel "The Plexus Syndicate Interview Room." Here you will meet our members and can get to know them (if you haven't already done so). We interview all our applicants and post the chat logs for our members to see. Our members subsequently vote on you according to your questionnaire and interview, and if we believe you match our vision and goals, you will be accepted. 5. Follow the next few tabs so you can know what to expect regarding the Plexus Syndicate's structure and what the next steps will be if you are accepted. We moved your application to the members-only section, which allows our members to discuss it in private. Don't fret. It hasn't been deleted or lost. If you're still concerned, you can confirm that we received it in the Interview Room. A few days. Because we have a number of people consistently coming in and only a few Internal Affairs diplomats to take care of them, we do ask you to be patient. Our members like to make conscious choices about accepting new applicants. You can help speed up this process by being active in the interview room—asking questions about the corp, what our community is like, and asking if you can be interviewed (if you haven't been already). We have members across all timezones, however it helps that you are "available" (online) for a potential interview after you post your application. As a recruit of Plexus and a pilot in EVE, you have a variety of career paths available—trading, manufacturing, mining, PvE, PvP. Members of the Plexus Syndicate embody all of these and even others that no one thought of, but they generally fall into two categories as far as Plexus is concerned—Civilians, and the United Defense Force, or UDF. Ultimately, if your application is accepted, you will be asked to join one of these two "classes". If you don't already understand the differences between these two classes, you should read up on them in the Information Database in the main menu, especially the articles Becoming a Civilian and Becoming a Soldier. On entrance to the corp you'll be granted with a title that signifies you either as Civilian or a soldier of the UDF. Civilian life is a life of plying the traderoutes and maximizing your potential to make ISK. It's not much PvP and combat, but many find their home next to the drone of the mining lasers or making egregious sums of money from lucrative opportunities. Plexus and the Order of New Eden have a number of businesses looking for good-quality employees as well, so if you don't have a business plan of your own, you can look at any of the businesses currently in existence and join them—or strike off on your own to make a fortune. Civilians are also the beating heart of our alliance's economy. All civilians, as individuals or collectively as businesses, pay a 30% profit tax to the Plexus government, which then keeps the administrative infrastructure and military force up and running. The government and military work in tandem to reinforce and protect the interests of civilians, and so a symbiosis forms between the two. For specific information on taxes, please visit our taxation article. UDF life is the serious life of a combat player. You are a soldier. You are here to protect the nation and family of people of Plexus and the Order of New Eden against those who would see her destroyed. It is not an easy life, but it is a rewarding life and an exciting life. You may be patrolling territory, engaging in covert operations, or heading a squadron in a fleet—but whatever the case, your life is a life of sacrifice for the betterment of the whole. Take the initiative as a soldier and you'll become something worth reckoning. Soldiers, like civilians, also pay taxes to the government, but in return for their services as warriors and soldiers, they gain a bi-monthly salary, which is determined by their rank and is designed to keep them fighting. This is given, however, that soldiers are online and playing for at least 4 hours a week. For more information about the UDF pay structure, visit our UDF pay chart article. Once you've chosen your class, contact our Internal Affairs Diplomat, so he/she can assign you the correct title and roles. He will also grant you access to the correct forums according to your class. Finally, if you are accepted, we ask you to go to our Orientation Page, where we have created a wealth of information that will be beneficial to you as a new member, according to your class. For civilian members, the orientation pages are highly recommended—for UDF members, they are mandatory. They will provide you with vital information regarding our procedures, as well as many downloadable resources such as EVEMON skill plans, links to player guides, and FAQ's. The Orientation Pages are available to registered members only. Go to the Orientation Pages |
